Lost Pyramid Punay

This 2 day trek takes you to the Lost Pyramid of Puñay – a sacred site discovered in 2003 on the peak of a 3,300 meter (10,826 feet) mountain in the Ecuadorian Andes.

The archeological site has been carbon dated to 2,400BC making it the oldest and largest temple of its kind in the Americas. The best thing about the pyramid is that its recent discovery means we will have the pyramid to ourselves to explore and enjoy.

Day 1:

Leave Riobamba at 9am for 3.5 hours to the small town of Santa Rosa. At 1pm we start our ascent and climb for 4 hours until we reach the peak where we camp.

Day 2:

We pack up the camping equipment and make our descent down the mountain until we reach Santa Rosa and then head back to Riobamba.
